Vegan Cuts Beauty Subscription Box

I’ve experienced my share of subscription boxes, but when they are green and cruelty free, they’re even better!

I was contacted by Vegan Cuts, a well known Canadian company who is dedicated to 100% cruelty free products. I was ecstatic when they offered to send me their May subscription beauty box of organic and natural goodies.

A little about Vegan Cuts from the website: “Vegan Cuts is a network of tempeh-loving, smoothie-drinking vegans coordinated by John and Jill, a vegan couple who see veganism as a way to live a life of abundance while making choices that show compassion towards all living creatures. The Vegan Cuts team knows that plant-based eating is the best, most fulfilling diet choice but they see a commitment to eating vegan as just a start so they spend their days scouring the interwebs, festivals, and stores for the very best vegan clothing, shoes, accessories, body care products and everyday items.” My May subscription box featured: Lauren Brooke Cosmetiques Mascara sample, full size Gourmet Body Treat Sheer Finishing Powder, Tallulah Jane perfume sample, full size Skinagain Vanish Cream, full size Sevi Blue Yarrow Hair Texture Spray, and Goddess Garden Natural Sunscreen sample.

Lauren Brooke Cosmetiques Mascara Description: “Uses herbs and extracts in their vitamin-rich mascara to help lengthen, strengthen, and protect your lashes.”
My Thoughts: I was excited to try this mascara sample since I love their creme foundation. Sadly it was not a favorite of mine. The ingredients are great, but I did not see additional results such as volume and lengthening which my lashes need. If you have great lashes and looking for a black mascara with great ingredients this product is for you.
IngredientsOrganic Aloe (Aloe Barbadensis), Sorbitol, Olive Emulsifiers, Castor (Ricinus Communis) Wax, Organic Horsetail, Organic Burdock, Organic Herbal Extract Blend, Radish Root, Cetearyl Alcohol, Non-GMO Organic Lecithin, Glyceryl Stearate, Orange Peel (Citrus Aurantium Amara) Wax, Sunflower (Helianthus Annuus) Wax, Vitamin B Complex, Iron Oxide.
Price: $18.50

Gourmet Body Treats Description: “Sheer finishing powder works with all skin tones and not only absorbs excess oil, but reduces the appearance of fine lines too.”
My Thoughts: This is a local brand I wanted to try. The ingredients are like none I have seen. I applied the powder to my lids since they are oily and it worked great with no creasing. I also applied the finishing powder to my face after applying makeup and it also kept me from looking shiny. I was excited that this product was full size, but after opening the lid I found that it was not even half full. Very disappointing for a full size product, but I’m happy I finally gave this local brand a try.
IngredientsOrganic arrowroot powder, Bamboo Extract, Olive leaf Extract, Pink Clay, Chamomile Extract, Green tea extract, Rose Extract, Kaolin Clay, Plantain Extract, Sugar Beets, Hibiscus Extract, Coconut Extract.

Tallulah Jane Description: “Exotic eau de parfum is bursting with the aroma of fresh limes, ginger, and warming eastern spices.”
My Thoughts: This perfume had a nice citrus smell. The aroma of lime is really strong in the product, but a great blend for summer.
IngredientsEthyl Alcohol (Organic Grape Alcohol), Ricinus communis (Organic Castor Oil), Parfum (Fragrance)* *100% Organic, wildcrafted or natural essential oils.

SkinAgain Vanish Cream Description: “Helps reduce the appearance of stretch marks, cellulite, and scars.”
My Thoughts: This product was tested by my sister in law. The cream needs to be applied two to three times a day according to the directions. My sister in law said, she is noticing less stretch marks that were developing on the back of her legs. She reports the product is working great but since it has to be applied two to three times a day the product if finishing fast. Unfortunately, for me this product contains Phenoxyethanol an ingredient I try to avoid.
IngredientsDeionized Water, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Powder, Squalane, Glycerin, Candelilla/Jojoba/Rice Bran Polyglyceryl-3 Esters, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate, Butylene Glycol, Avocado Pit Extract, Shea Butter, Bentonite, Vibrio Alginolyticus Ferment Filtrate, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, Yeast Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E Acetate), Allantoin, Carthamus tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, CucumisSativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Extract, Calendula officinalis Flower Extract, Camellia sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, ArticumLappa (Burdock) Root Extract, Gingko Biloba Leaf Extract, Symphytum Officinale (Comfrey) Leaf Extract, Xanthan Gum, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Benzoate, Sorbitol, Potassium Sorbate

Goddess Garden Organics Sunscreen Description: “Our formulas are all 100% biodegradable and are filled with nourishing organic ingredients like aloe vera and sunflower oil.”
My Thoughts: The sunscreen applied smooth without a greasy feel and absorbed quickly. The scent of lavender was a plus, it didn’t smell like your typical chemical sunscreen. I’m glad to have sampled it and will defiantly purchase the full size this summer.
IngredientsActive Ingredients: Zinc Oxide 6.0%, Titanium Dioxide 6.4% Other Ingredients: Aloe Vera*, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter)*, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (Coconut Oil), Glycerin*, Glyceryl Caprylate, Glyceryl Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate Citrate, Glyceryl Undecylenate, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil*, Helianthus Annus (Sunflower) Oil*, Iron Oxide, Lavendula Augustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Polyhydroxystearic Acid, Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Stearic Acid, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Xanthan Gum *CERTIFIED ORGANIC

Sevi Blue Yarrow Hair Texture Spray Description“Texturizer spray for hair that gives light body and defines curls without stiffness or residue.”
My Thoughts: My hair is naturally wavy when not blow dried. The spray gave a nice beach wave style I just pinned back for an effortless hairstyle. The aroma of beach saltwater with the blend of oils smelled amazing! My only setback is the amount of product I had to apply to achieve the look I wanted. In one sitting half of the product is gone already.
IngredientsAqueous Herbal Extracts of *Flax Seed,  *Marshmallow Root, *Watercress, *Horsetail and *Stinging Nettle, Dead Sea Salt, Panthenol (Vitamin B5),  Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Aspen Bark Extract, Pure Essential Oils (*Blue Yarrow, **Myrrh  *Grapefruit and *Mandarin Oil).
